Accreditation at Berean Bible Academy

We believe in radical transparency about where we are on our accreditation journey. Here is exactly where BBA stands today, the pathway we are pursuing, and what our credentials currently mean for you.

Where BBA stands today

Berean Bible Academy is a registered religious educational institution offering theological education at Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor's, Postgraduate Diploma, Master's, and Master of Divinity levels. We are pursuing, but have not yet completed, accreditation through the formal theological-education associations listed below. We disclose this clearly to every prospective student before enrolment and on every program page.

Our Accreditation Pathway

A realistic, four-phase roadmap toward fully accredited theological education.

Phase 1
Year 1

Institutional Foundation

Registration as a religious educational institution and full build-out of our learning management system, faculty governance, and academic policies.

Phase 2
Years 1–2

Theological Accreditation

Pursuing membership and accreditation with recognised theological education bodies such as TAI (Theological Associations International), IATA, ACI, and ITAA.

Phase 3
Years 3–5

ATS Candidacy

Working toward Association of Theological Schools (ATS) candidacy — the gold-standard accreditor for graduate theological education in North America.

Phase 4
Years 5–10

Regional / National Accreditation

Pursuing full regional or national accreditation so degrees translate directly into government and inter-institutional contexts worldwide.

Academic standards we already meet

  • Curriculum aligned with the ATS (Association of Theological Schools) curricular framework.
  • Credit hours and contact-time computed using internationally accepted seminary standards.
  • Programme structure mirrors recognised B.A., PGD, M.A. and M.Div. degrees.

Our promise of transparency

  • Every prospective student is told our current accreditation status before enrolment.
  • Tuition and fees are clearly disclosed in both Naira and US Dollars on every program page.
  • Course content, contact hours, and assessment standards are published transparently.
  • Progress against our accreditation roadmap is reviewed annually by the Board of Governors.

Before you enrol — what to confirm

If you plan to use a BBA credential for a specific purpose — civil employment in a regulated profession, graduate-school admission at an accredited university, denominational ordination requirements with strict accreditation rules, or a government position — please confirm acceptability with that body in advance. We are happy to speak directly with denominational credentialing officers and registrars to clarify our standards.
