DCLEAD

Diploma in Christian Leadership

Department of Theology · 2 years · 12 courses · 100% online

About this programme

You were given a department, a branch or a unit because you were faithful, not because anyone judged you ready. Now there are people to organise, money to account for, volunteers who stop coming, and a disagreement between two workers that has been simmering for a month. Most leaders in Nigerian churches and businesses learn all this by copying whoever came before them.

Leadership is treated here as something taught rather than absorbed, beginning with what authority and service look like under God. The practical study is administrative and relational at once: the records, systems and ordinary discipline that make an organisation trustworthy, and the harder work of building teams, leading people through change and handling conflict before it hardens. Underneath sits a working knowledge of the Old Testament, doctrine, church history and how to study the Bible, so that your leadership rests on something.

You will finish able to plan, delegate, run a meeting, keep clean records and hold a team together through difficulty. Picture the disagreement in your unit handled properly this time. Department heads, church administrators and business owners find their footing here, and your application is welcome.

12 courses across 4 semesters, about 2 years of study.

Who it is for

Those who want more than a certificate gives: a broader foundation across the subject, taken at a steady pace. It is a natural route towards degree study later.

What you will be able to do

Handle the subject with real competence, teach it to others, and carry responsibility in a local church with a foundation under you.

How you will study

Every course here runs the same way, so you always know where you are.

  • Six study modules a course, each with a handout you can read on screen or download.
  • Video and audio of the same teaching, for studying while you travel or work.
  • A short refresher quiz to open each course. It is not scored, and you may retake it.
  • Two tests along the way, then a final examination. The pass mark is 50%.
  • Results appear as soon as you submit.

Study is entirely online and at your own pace. Everything works on a phone, and handouts can be downloaded to read without data.
